On her quest back to natural hair, Robin enlisted quite a few products to get
started but it was in this product search that she discovered a different
challenge. Robin needed to find products that worked for hair in transition and
embraced her desire to grow out her permed hair without cutting it first. She
needed products that would address the very specific needs of her hair
dilemma.

Choosing not to make the “big chop”, this former admitted product junkie was
still searching for “the product” and a regimen that would transform her
transitioning mane. She wanted a product to help her regain the health of her
hair and scalp while seeking to regrow the thinning hairline she lost from
relaxers. She also desired products that would give her manageability and
flexibility to blend the two very different hair textures that she struggled to
tame. Her objective was to ‘grow and clip’ her perm hair in an effort not to lose
her length since her number one strategy to mask her transition was the pony
tail/bun combo! (Y’all know what she’s talking about!)

After meeting with one of HerbalNature’s Healthy Hair Consultants, Robin
began to follow a regimen designed just for her that included using
HerbalNature™ Hair Oil, Styling Pomade & Hair Tea. She also learned styling
techniques that blended her two hair textures. After the FIRST USE, she
noticed a dramatic difference in how her hair looked and felt. Robin’s transition

Robin remembers getting her first perm at age 15. She found that the excitement of
not having to comb through hair that’s ‘too thick’ or ‘too kinky’ had its trade off. “The
challenge that was most frustrating for me was that I always had to go to someone to
get my hair done and the chemical’s left me so unhappy because of the constant
maintenance it required. . .My experience with chemicals was never being able to do my
own hair.”, she stated when asked what had been her biggest hair challenge while
getting relaxers .

Like so many women, Robin felt trapped in a cycle:
Chemically treated hair > new growth > back to beauty shop > touch up & maintenance

After 30 years of this on again, off again relationship with chemicals and salons, Robin
not only realized she desired to have more control over her hair styling regimen but the
health of her hair was suffering as a result. She began experiencing increased breakage
and dryness even with regular maintenance and conditioning. She also noticed her hair
was thinning and prominently around her line. So in a brave gesture to regain both
control over grooming practices and the integrity of her hair she decided to completely
transition back to her natural hair texture and abandon the chemicals once and for all.
Her number one reason for transitioning was, “I wanted healthier hair.”
